Hours/Schedule

Schedule varies somewhat day to day depending on the children attending and special activities planned. Here is a general overview of the schedule.

7:30-9:00 a.m. - Child's Choice: opening books, puzzles, matching. Shelf toys: open ended building material. Teacher directed art, science, special activity - morning work.

9:00-9:45 a.m. - Circle Time/ Group Time: 20-30 minute finger play, songs (cognitive and language development), stories, horizontal, vertical curriculum oriented.

9:45-10:00 a.m. - Snack Time

10:00-11:00 a.m. - large motor skills: neighborhood walks, play yard, outside time, park; sensory activities: easel painting, water play, playdough, finger painting, birdseed, sand.

10:30 a.m. - dance and movement, dress up and pretend, housekeeping, science and math (cooking activities using measuring and pouring), gardening, pets, sink and float.

Library story time.

10:15-11:15 a.m. - Special events at the library, puppet shows, rhythm circles, theater, storytelling, children's dance groups, cultural awareness.

11:30-12:30 p.m. - Lunch

12:45 p.m. - Naptime preparation

1:00 p.m. - Naptime

3:00 p.m. - Snacktime

Closing - Big Room books, puzzles, shelf toys (child chooses), teacher directed activitiy, art, story, sensory activity.
