Little Peoples' Prep
will enhance the cognitive, social, emotional, creative and physical
growth of your child. This early learning program and day care focuses
on the child's individual and curriculum needs.
As teacher and facilitator
of this program, I encourage parent participation and suggestions.
I look forward to working with you and giving your child a wonderful
early childhood experience.
In order to facilitate
the operation of the Program and to provide quality care for your
child, the following policies have been established. Your cooperation
is important towards this effort.
Daily
Changes in Schedule
Call the Enrichment Program regarding any changes in your child's
schedule i.e.
- change in arrival/pick-up
time
- sick days
- vacation days
- change in scheduled
days and times
- telephone numbers,
extension, out of town numbers, etc.
Absenteeism/Illness
Please call the Enrichment Program by 9:00 a.m., or before your
child's contractual time, to notify me if your child is ill, late
or will not be attending. There is no reduction in tuition for
absences. Your child's place in the program is reserved for
him or her.
The
sick policy is as follows:
If your child has a fever, diarrhea, a runny nose(and/or thick mucous),
a congested cough in the initial stage (first 48 hours), or vomits,
Please keep them at home! Children at these stages are very
contagious. Be sensitive to other families and their children in
the program.
In the event a child
becomes ill while attending the program, the parents or person(s)
listed on the emergency list will be notified to pick up their child
immediately. Your child will be isolated from the other children
until your arrival.
Overtime charges
One (1) late day per month (evening pickup) will be recognized for
emergency pick-up purposes only! There will be an overtime charge
for children picked up after their contractual time. The charge
is $5.00 for the first 15 minutes. The Program closes at 4:30 p.m.
and there will be an additional charge of $5.00 for each remaining
5 minutes. NO exceptions.
Vacation
At least one (1) week
notice is required prior to vacations. Parents will pay half of
weekly tuition to reserve space.
My Vacation may include:
- 1 week (4-5 days for
Teacher Conferences)
- 3 weeks in the summer
(July or August)
- 1 personal day per
month as needed
Parents will be notified
at least 2 weeks prior to my vacation or conference. Please inform
me if you need a substitute program for your child. I encourage
parents to have an alternative care provider for emergencies (teachers
illnesses), etc.
Pick-Up
Authorization
No child will be released to a person not authorized by a parent
to pick up the child. A written authorization from parents for all
persons who are allowed to pick up their child is kept on file.
Please notify the Program if you want to change, add, or delete
names from your child's "Authorized Persons Pick-Up List."
Tuition
Tuition is due before the 5th of the month for parents who pay on
a monthly basis. Changes to this policy will be recognized on individual
contracts, or by special arrangement only. Regular tuition will
be charged for all legal holidays if it's your child's regular day
of attendance.
Meals
Breakfast will be provided for children who arrive before 9:00 a.m.
The basic 4 nutritional chart serves as a guideline for meals. Menus
are obtainable upon request.
Two (2) snacks midmorning
and late afternoon and lunch will be offered to the children. Milk
and juice are also provided.
- Sample lunch: sandwich,
celery peanut butter and raisins, carrot sticks with ranch dressing,
fruit (fresh, seasonal or canned), milk or juices.
Clothing
and Bed Items
Please keep a change of clothing in your child's cubby that is seasonal
and comparable to the weather. Sleeping mats and cots are provided
for your child for naptime. Two coverlets are required: a crib sheet
(preferably) and child's blanket. Both coverlets are sent home the
last day of the week for laundering, or when soiled. Soft animals,
cuddleys, and special blankets are encouraged for your child's comfort.

Field Trips and Activities
Planned field trips
will be announced or posted at least one week in advance. Early
morning walks, park outings and the library's preschool story hour
are commonly visited by our Program according to the weather. Parents
should have their children on site by 9:00 a.m. Late children will
not be included on early morning outings and stragglers hold up
the operation of the program. Parents will be responsible for paying
bus fare or admission to outings when applicable.
Little Peoples' Prep
encourages parent participation and involvement. Parents who attend,
assist, or sponsor field trips, luncheons, pizza parties, etc. will
not be charged for that day. Parents may also be asked to help in
car pools.
Administering
Medication
Prescription medicine
will be administered by the teacher only if:
- The medicine is labeled
with the child's name, the name of the drug, the physicians name
and the directions.
- Form K: Physician's
Order Re: Medication is filled out by your child's physician (may
be obtained from teacher.)
- A similar form is
completed by your child's physician.
These policies protect
you and your child. Never send a prescription drug for your child
who is not named on the drug's pharmacy label!
Contractual Time
Contractual guidelines are follows:
- Four hours or less
is considered part-time.
- Over four and a half
hours to eight hours is full-time
I will not contract a
parent over 9 hours. Ten (10) hours a day or more is too long for
the child. Please be sensitive to your child! I will care for your
child in emergency situations only. Habitually late parents could
be asked to withdraw their child from the Program.
Notice
of Intention to Withdraw
A two week notice of intention to withdraw your child from the program
is required. If you choose to take your child out sooner, you will
be charged the remaining two weeks tuition.
